Pensacola Beach Area Events

Two of Pensacola’s annual events celebrate the city as the Cradle of Naval Aviation. The Pensacola Beach Air Show, featuring the Blue Angels flight demonstration team, takes place every July and draws massive crowds to the shoreline. The Blue Angels Air Show, held in November, marks the final performance of the season before the team wraps up its national tour.

Another beloved annual event, the Pensacola Crawfish Festival, highlights the area’s Creole influence. One of the largest crawfish boils in Florida, the festival features authentic bayou-style entertainment, live music, and plenty of local flavor.

Pensacola is also home to one of the country’s largest billfish tournaments. Hosted by the Pensacola Big Game Fishing Club, the Pensacola International Billfish Tournament typically attracts around 500 anglers each year, turning the area into a hub for sportfishing enthusiasts.

Seafood takes center stage once again during the Pensacola Seafood Festival, where visitors can sample fresh Gulf dishes, watch live cooking demonstrations, browse more than 150 arts and crafts vendors, and enjoy live entertainment. Spanning Seville Square, Fountain Park, and Bartram Park, this free event has consistently been ranked among the top festivals in the Southeast.

One of the area’s most unique events happens just west of Pensacola in nearby Perdido Key. The annual Mullet Toss, held the last full weekend of April at the Flora-Bama Lounge, challenges participants to throw a mullet from Florida into Alabama. The weekend includes live music, food, drinks, and festivities, all benefiting local youth charities.

Throughout the year, visitors can also enjoy sailing regattas, sand-sculpting contests, beachside concerts, and a lively Mardi Gras celebration. If you’re planning a trip around any of these events, staying close to the action makes all the difference. Browse Pensacola Beach, FL vacation rentals for easy access to air shows, festivals, and beachfront events, or explore Perdido Key, FL vacation rentals if you’re heading west for iconic celebrations like the Mullet Toss.
