Sandestin Wine Festival Promises Wine, Food, and Fun in the Sun

Sandestin Wine Festival bottles of white and rose wines It’s almost time again to “Uncork Some Fun in the Sun” at the Sandestin Wine Festival, which celebrates its 34th anniversary in 2021. Named the “Best Annual Event” by Destin magazine, the popular festival offers wine lovers the opportunity to sample more than 500 wines from around the world. Guests also have opportunities to interact with top winemakers, learn what foods and wines go best together, and buy favorite wines at discounted prices. This year’s main events – the Grand Wine Tastings – are scheduled for Friday night, April 16, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, April 17, from 1 to 4 p.m., at The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Appellations from all the major wine-producing countries will be represented, with a wide range of varieties, styles, and prices. Offered along with the wines are bite-size appetizers prepared by some of the area’s best chefs. Plus, each ticket holder will receive a Riedel wine glass etched to commemorate this year’s event. The event, scheduled for 11:45 a.m. to 3 p.m., features a pre-voyage dockside reception with passed hors d’ oeuvres, followed by lunch – a four-course Gulf chef-curated menu paired with premium Champagnes. Cost of the cruise is $98 per person. On Saturday morning, April 18, Spa Sandestin offers festival-goers a healthy start to the day with MIND. BODY. BEACH. Scheduled for 9 a.m., the exercise session features yoga and mimosas on the beach. Cost of the event is $25 per person. The festival ends on Sunday, April 18, at Hammerhead's Bar & Grill in The Village of Baytowne Wharf for a New Orleans Bottomless Brunch. There will be bottomless mimosas, a Bloody Mary Bar and a festive creole-style brunch buffet with cooking stations. Brunch time for this popular event is 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Cost of the event is $40. Wines will be available for purchase at discounted prices in the ABC Fine Wine and Spirits Retail Tent. Located in the Village of Baytowne Wharf parking lot, it will be open daily during the festival. Hours are 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday.
