Art, Music, and More in Santa Rosa Beach
The landscaped grounds of WaterColor Inn and Resort in Santa Rosa Beach are the setting for the 25th annual ArtsQuest Fine Art and Music Festival. Scheduled for Mother’s Day weekend, May 10, 11, and 12, ArtsQuest includes a juried competition showcasing 40 artists from the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County, plus the work of hundreds of art students. All artistic mediums will be represented, including jewelry, fiber, fabric, baskets, wood, metals, and pottery. Other attractions at this year’s event include live music on multiple stages in genres ranging from jazz to classical to rock, hands-on watercolor and basket-weaving workshops, art demonstrations, and fun activities for the kids. Back by popular demand is the Songs on the Lawn concert, to be held Sunday evening at WaterColor’s Marina Park Amphitheater. Stars of this year’s concert are blues-influenced performers Cory Chisel and Adriel Harris, with special guest Kellin Watson. On Saturday and Sunday afternoons, 30A Dancewave will perform, and Seaside Repertory Theatre will offer interactive storytelling. Wine lovers should reserve tickets for WineQuest, a popular ArtsQuest-related event that features wine and cheese pairings from around the world, courtesy of Chan’s Wine World. Wines for this year’s tastings, to be held Friday evening at WaterColor, come from Italy, France, Chile, Spain, and South Africa. General admission to ArtsQuest is free. Hours are 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets for Songs on the Lawn are $20 per person in advance, $25 at the door. WineQuest tickets cost $25 per person. For more information, visit www.artsquestflorida.com.
