Free Food for the Kids, and Fun for All!

Pompano Joe’s is teaming up with the Emerald Coast Surfriders  Foundation to bring beach-going guests treats rather than tricks this  Halloween. Ghouls, ghosts, goblins, and just plain folks are invited to the  popular Destin restaurant for its big Beach Spooktacular, scheduled for  Saturday, October 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests of all ages are welcome to participate in the day’s  activities, which include music, games, contests, candy, and giveaways.  Attendees are welcome to come in costume, but fancy dress is not required. Contestants vying for prizes in the sandcastle-building  competition will discover that the emphasis is on fun, with as much weight given to enthusiasm and teamwork as to sculpting skills. Other activities  include a carved pumpkin contest (entries must be brought to the competition  already carved) and a free Bote Board (stand-up paddleboard) demonstration,  followed by a paddleboard race. After the event, the Surfriders Foundation will hold a beach clean-up. Proceeds from Beach Spooktacular will benefit the foundation, an  environmental group dedicated to preserving the ocean and  beaches. Admission to Pompano Joe’s Beach Spooktacular is free, and any  child accompanied by an adult will receive a voucher to eat free at Pompano Joe’s the day of the event.
