One of the most-visited museums in Florida, the National Naval Aviation Museum traces the history of naval aviation through informative exhibits, interactive displays, and more than 150 beautifully restored aircraft. Located on the grounds at Naval Air Station Pensacola, the museum has nearly 350,000 square feet of exhibit space, plus 37 outdoor acres. Attractions include a giant-screen theater with a laser-illuminated 2D projection system, hands-on 3D flight simulators, cockpit trainers, a virtual flight deck, and the Blue AngelsX4D Theater. There’s also a restaurant, a gift shop. and a kiddie play area for children aged 5 and under. Museum admission is free. The museum shares a home with the BLUE ANGELS flight demonstration squadron. The Angels regularly fly practice sessions in the skies around Pensacola most Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from March to November. And after most Wednesday practices, members of the Blue Angels meet fans and sign autographs inside the museum. There is no charge to view the practices or attend the autograph sessions.
