Mexico Beach Vacation Information

Update: Work is underway to restore Mexico Beach from the damage of hurricane Michael.

Mexico Beach may be just 20 miles east of Panama City, but it’s a world away from the hustle and bustle of many Panhandle destinations. The pace of life slows down in this family-friendly coastal community with five miles of sugar white beaches.

The beach and all its natural beauty is the main attraction, but there is much more to do here—if you choose! Mexico Beach offers an abundance of activities from diving to kayaking to jet-ski rentals. If you’re an angler, bring your rod and reel because the fishing in Mexico Beach is as good as it gets whether you decide to cast in from the beach, visit the newly renovated Pier and Canal Park or charter a boat for deep-sea excursions. Nature lovers will be amazed at the number of bird species found in the area including bald eagles, osprey, pelicans, and many species of herons and egrets. Plus five species of sea turtles inhabit our pristine beaches with loggerhead turtle hatchlings emerging in the late summer.

Another thing you’ll love about Mexico Beach and its “old Florida” experience is the unobstructed views thanks to the absence of high-rise buildings. Accommodations range from beachfront hotels to condominiums to beach homes. If you travel with your four-legged friends, you’ll find many pet-friendly options. The dining scene in Mexico Beach is casual and family friendly with menus featuring local-caught seafood. Of course, burger and pizza joints can also be found in the charming community where local shops offer off-the-beaten path merchandise.

Come to Mexico Beach to rediscover the simple joys of a beach vacation! As you watch the dolphins play at sunset and take a dip into the clear water of the Gulf of Mexico, you’ll be planning your next trip to our magical beach!
