The heart of Gulf Shores is two miles east, where you'll find all sorts of beachy restaurants, shops, and ice cream parlors. Waterville USA (three miles), Gulf State Park (four miles), and the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo (eight miles) are close by as well. Begin each morning by sipping coffee outside on the front porch, preparing breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen, and sitting down for pancakes at the breakfast bar and the dining room table. Before heading out the door to the beach, grab some fresh, warm towels and swimsuits from the private washer/dryer. Return home in the afternoons to unwind in the living room by screening a movie or two on cable or DVD.
