St. Joseph boasts some of the highest sand dunes in the nation, as well as miles of dazzling white-sand beaches. It's also one of the few remaining habitats of coastal sand pine scrub, so it's teeming with birds and other wildlife. Park facilities include two nature trails, a picnic area, a playground, 119 family campsites, and primitive camping and hiking in the 1900-acre wilderness preserve that occupies the northern end of the peninsula. Overnight accommodations are also available in eight cabins overlooking St. Joe Bay.
